SUFFOLK County Council have come to the rescue of several rural bus services including the 345 between Haverhill and Bury St Edmunds.
The County Council launched a tendering exercise after a number of commercial operators withdrew services. The new operators will take over from the 23 July, and will provide a continuing service.

In announcing the rescue package, Suffolk County Council's Director of Environment & Transport, Peter Thompson said: "Although this exercise has stretched our public transport budget I am pleased it is possible for people to continue to use public transport as an essential part of their lives."
