Council agrees grants of over £350,000 to Haverhill organisations

Haverhill-based organisations are to receive grants totalling over £350,000 from St Edmundsbury Borough Council for the next financial year.
The main recipients will be Haverhill Arts Centre, with £219,745 as part of its five-year funding agreement with the borough council, and Haverhill Citezens' Advioce Bureau with £106,500 core funding over the next year.
Community centres will also be receiving grants similar to their existing ones.
Voluntary organisations to benefit will Haverhill Local History Group, which is to get £3,500 core funding over the next two years, Haverhill Volunteer Centre with £14,000 a year, £3,750 to Haverhill Foodbank and £2,500 to Three Counties Transport.
The grants were agreed at St Edmundsbury's cabinet meeting last week, as part of the council's budget-setting process, and are subject to confirmation at full council on February 23.
