Convention helps career choices
Thursday, 22nd October 2009.
Representatives from universities, colleges, public services, armed forces and local businesses attended a Careers Convention at Samuel Ward Arts & Technology College in Haverhill on Tuesday.
The day-long convention gave them a chance to meet and talk with students and families about the many different career options that are available to school leavers.
Parents and students from all year groups were encouraged to drop in and talk to people about careers, employment, training and education and take home information and advice.
Head teacher Howard Lay said: “With lifelong learning currently being a national priority, the Careers Convention will help our students to get a better idea of what opportunities are out there.”
