Comedy club stand-up returns to arts centre
Tuesday, 25th January 2011.
The Monkey Nuts Comedy Club returns to Haverhill Arts Centre this weekend with another three stand-up stars from the UK comedy circuit, Joe Bor, Julian Deane and John Gordillo.
It's on Sunday, starting at 8pm and tickets for members are £7 and for non-members £8.50.
Joe Bor, warm-up for The Graham Norton Show, is known for his energetic stage presence and natural comic ability. A review in The Scotsman described him as a ‘Hugely talented character comic, very funny and memorably charismatic’.
Julian Deane’s brilliant, original and hilarious routines have earned him appreciation and praise from audiences as well as prominent figures in the comedy industry. He has also won some of the most prestigious comedy competitions in the country, including Laughing Horse New Act 2010.
John Gordillo, who has directed shows for Eddie Izzard and Reginald T Hunter has funny-bone talent that extends beyond the director’s chair. His stand-up continually receives rave reviews and the Chortle website says he ‘is an inspiration, a consummate performer with an amazing talent, passion and intellect. If you are after cheap, silly laughs avoid this, but if you want intelligent, moving comedy with a point, then you cannot afford to miss it.'
The comedy club, based at Haverhill Arts Centre on the last Sunday of January, March, May, September and November has hosted some of the best known comedians in the country including Michael McIntyre and Kevin Bridges.
In addition to a reduced ticket price members also get discounts on other selected comedy events at the Arts Centre.
Please note that the line-up is subject to change.
