Close contest in national qualifier
Tuesday, 13th December 2011.
The Daily Mail Foursomes national qualifying event for men was played at Haverhill Golf Club on Sunday, December 11.
Once again there was an impressive number taking part for the time of year. The competition was extremely close and had to be decided on countback for the top three places.
The overall winners, based on the back six score, were last year’s runners-up, Paul Borowy and Steve Nichols with 37pts.
The pair will go on to represent Haverhill Golf Club in 2012 for the next round, to be confirmed early next year.
Finishing in second place were the partnership of Martin Mansfield and Mark Wells based on their back nine score, just edging David Peck and Simon Couzins into third place, also with 37pts.
