Cigarette through letterbox could have been deadly
Friday, 8th October 2010.
Police are appealing for information after a cigarette was put through a letterbox, causing a small fire on the doormat within.
The incident happened at Castle Lane, Haverhill, between 10pm and 10.05pm on Thursday evening.
The fire was quickly discovered and extinguished and no-one was hurt.
However, it is being investigated as an incident of arson endangering life.
