Church enjoys traditional Easter Day breakfast
Tuesday, 26th April 2011.
Worshippers at Haverhill Methodist Church were treated to a special breakfast on Easter Day.
The breakfast has become a tradition over the years. A 'full English' (with vegetarian option), was prepared by some of the men in their fellowship, and served to about 50 adults and children at 9am, after the early morning communion service.
The church thjen held a celebration service at 10.30am, with a packed church.
During this service, items which had been placed on the cross during Lent, (bread & wine, towel & basin, money bag, whip, purple robe and crown of thorns, palm branches) were removed, and the cross was transformed by being smothered in colourful flowers brought by members of the congregation.
This cross will be on display for several days.
