Christmas lights appeal
Thursday, 9th November 2000.
AN APPEAL has gone out to Haverhill traders for donations to make the town's Christmas lights display even more spectacular this year.
New Christmas lights were bought last Christmas after an anonymous donation was made to the council, who, along with traders, chipped in more cash.
The lights will be switched on by the town's mayor Gerry Kiernan on the Market Square on Thursday, November 24, at 4.30pm.
Shops in the town are also being encouraged to take part in a Best Dressed Shop competition as part of the Family Christmas Night on December 8.
Anyone wishing to make a donation or enter the competition should contact Nick Keeble on (01440) 761196.
