Children in the making of a myth
Thursday, 8th August 2002.
IT may just be the school summer holidays but some youngsters in Haverhill are already thinking ahead to Halloween.
A group of children aged from seven upwards took part in the first of three Myths and Legends workshops at East Town
Park last Thursday. Madeleine AndersonBrlmblecombe led the children in the fun, making crafts and artworks that will be used when the town hosts its annual major Halloween event.
Nick Keeble, Haverhill Town Council s Leisure Manager,
Said: Our Halloween event will be based on myths and legends. The influence of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings will give it a modern relevance.
The children will be creating large-scale artwork, including a dragon in a cave for the event
The good work going on at the workshops will be continued in two further workshops on Thursday 15 and Thursday 29 of August from barn-Spin on each of the days. Tickets cost £5 and can be booked in advance by ringing
