Charitable effort was such a relief
Tuesday, 30th March 2010.
Over 800 pupils and students at Samuel Ward College of Arts and Technology in Haverhill ran, walked or skipped a mile to support Sports Relief last week.
Students also contributed £1 to wear their favourite football kit for the day and the school raised over £1,000.
Refreshments were supplied by a year nine tutor group as part of their enterprise work.
Mr Thompson, head of PE, said: “The activity was part of a wider school commitment to improving the health and fitness of staff and pupils and we were pleased with the response.
"We have the Healthy Schools Award and this commits us to developing the health of all our pupils. This was just one part of that process.”
