Chance to try out as a town councillor
Tuesday, 27th August 2013.
A casual vacancy has been declared on Haverhill Town Council, due to the resignation of Cllr Bryan Hawes.
Cllr Hawes, elected as a Conservative, and who was the leader of the Conservative group, left the party and became an Independent. He has now decided to resign after declaring for UKIP.
The vacancy is for Haverhill North, but an election will only be required if a request is made to the returning officer by ten electors from the ward, before the closing date of September the sixth.
Otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
