Chance to join in a nationwide Hallellujah
Friday, 4th December 2009.
Nearly 50 singers from the Haverhill area will be converging on a village church on Sunday to perform Christmas music and take part in the nationwide singing of the Hallellujah Chorus - and you can join in.
The BBC's Sing Hallellujah project is designed to encourage people to discover the joy of singing by joining in one of the most famous pieces, the Hallellujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah.
This weekend has been designated a special Sing Hallellujah weekend for choirs and groups all over the country and Haverhill Choral Society is participating.
The chorus will be included in their concert of Christmas music on Sunday at 7.30pm in All Saints Church, Hundon.
Everyone is invited to join in the Hellellujah Chorus towards the end of the programme, as well as many favourite carols.
Haverhill Choral Society has nearly 50 singers who will be performing a variety of Christmas music by Rachmaninov, Sweelink, Walton and Matthias, as well as arrangements of traditional carols.
They will be conducted by their musical director Jane Wright and accompanied on the organ by Nigel Brown, and a brass quintet.
Tickets for the concert are £8 to include refreshments and will be available on the door.
