Chance for amateur photographers to feature in calendar
Wednesday, 15th February 2012.
Amateur photographers could see their work featured in a fund raising calendar, in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.
The charity is launching a competition for photographs of uplifting scenes from the region, which would be suitable for inclusion in the Hospice’s 2013 calendar.
One of the judges will be Haverhill photographer George Impey.
Susanne Dickson, the hospice's retail co-ordinator, said: “We want the calendar to feature some beautiful and uplifting scenes to reflect every season, taken in the West Suffolk and Thetford area.”
The photographs will be judged by a panel including professional photographers, a Hospice Trustee and a patient.
Susanne added: “We will be doing our best to choose the images which we think are eye-catching. I know there are many keen amateur photographers out there, so I urge them to look through their files and select their best photograph.”
The closing date for entries is 4pm on Friday, 23 March.
Entries should be submitted via email to Susanne.dickson@stnh.org.uk or on a CD sent to Susanne Dickson, St Nicholas Hospice Care Retail Centre, Unit 6, Boldero Road, Bury St Edmunds IP32 7BS or delivered by hand to the same address.
Entries must be labelled with the entrant’s name and image files must be in landscape format, 300 dpi and between 2MB and 4MB. Entrants should include their name, address, email address, telephone number, age, details of where the photograph was taken and one sentence (max 25 words) about why they are entering the competition.
