More than 30,000 visits have been made to Haverhill Arts Centre over the past year.
Figures issued by St Edmundsbury Borough Council show that 122 public events were held at the centre and 150 cinema showings.
Visits by Kenny Ball, Joe Brown, Barry Cryer and Paul Daniels have proved popular, as well as visits by touring companies such as Hull Truck and Eastern Angles.
Films such as Bridget Jones’ Diary, Harry Potter and the
Philosopher’s Stone and Lord of the Rings were also extremely popular.
The Local History Centre has just been awarded museum status and Braintree College uses the centre for its popular Energise courses for women returning to work.
The centre is also used by groups such as Haverhill Operatic Society, the flower club, the art group, and to prepare Meals on Wheels.
Coun Sara Mildmay-White, chairman of Leisure Services for St Edmundsbury, said the centre was providing local people with a great range of local, national and international entertainment, alongside the popular Haverhill Festival run by Haverhill Town Council.
“I am delighted that so many people have enjoyed its programme over the past year and hope it continues to attract this support in the future and remains a focal point for Haverhill’s activities,” Coun Mildmay-White said.
