Carnival Attracts Haverhill’s Disco Girls
Tuesday, 8th July 2008.
Saffron Walden Carnival has once again wowed the crowds including some well known fashionistas from Haverhill. Do you recognise them?
The carnival which runs from 4 – 12 July has been organised by Saffron Walden Round Table and is proving to be another resounding success. As well as featuring the crowning of a carnival queen, there have been a range of outdoor and indoor events spanning eight days. These include a ‘Boogie Wonderland’ seventies evening last Saturday night, where our lovely ladies had serious impact, Judge Jules hosting a club night on Friday and Bjorn Again.
The carnival has been designed to raise money for local charities and good causes. The last Saffron Walden carnival, held in 2005, raised over £40,000 and organisers this year are hoping to at least equal that figure.
All Roundtable members donate their time and services free of charge and 100% of the profits raised are distributed to charities.
