Busy week for school science department
By Martin Chapman on Thursday, 23rd November 2000.
THE science department is busy this week, Year 10 and 11 students will be going to Ipswich for a lecture on HAL on earth (named after the computer which was made famous in 2001: A Space Odyssey).
Year nine will be visiting the cemetery on Haverhill to look at the effect of weathering on gravestones.
Year 12 and 13 students went to Cambridge last week for a lecture on the London Eye and they will visit the attractions soon. They also went to a sociology conference in London.
There was a good attendance at the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) quiz with a number of pupil teams taking part.
Next week seeks the start of the Haverhill sixth form information evenings, with a talk by staff at Samuel Ward beginning at 7:30pm.
