Business people to get their heads into the cloud
Thursday, 13th February 2014.
The bestof Haverhill will hold their February event at Days Inn Haverhill next Thursday, February 20, 10am until 11.30am.
Guest speaker Paul Donno, from 1 Accounts Online, will be talking about the benefits of using cloud-based technologies for business.
Paul started his career as a trainee management accountant in 1985 working for Label Convertors in Haverhill before founding his own accountancy practice in 1993.
In nearly 30 years of working in the accountancy field Paul has always subscribed to using technology to improve systems and processes both within his own business and his clients.
Although cloud computing has been around and evolving since the 1960s it has become more prevalent in the last five years when companies such as Microsoft and Google started to deliver some of their services 'in the cloud'.
Paul will talk about how businesses can use cloud-based technology to share information, improve efficiency and take their accounting function totally online.
He will explain how to access different solutions in the cloud and the benefits, including saving time and money.
Elaine Carr, owner of the bestof Haverhill, said: “Paul has always been a strong advocate of using technology to make life easier. He has worked closely with Sage UK on the development and promotion of their cloud based accounting software Sage One and is recognised by Sage as their number one online accountant.
"Last year he spoke at several national and international conferences on the topic so is well qualified to explain the benefits of 'the cloud' for business owners.
"We all battle with not having enough hours in the day to get everything done. Paul will provide some tips and hints that we can take away to help save time and improve efficiency within our businesses.”
If you would like to attend this free event please book by 5pm on Tuesday. The event is open to all local businesses; you do not need to be a member of bestof Haverhill to attend. If you require any further information please email Elaine Carr at Haverhill@thebestof.co.uk.
