Business meeting will focus of research park plan reaction
Tuesday, 1st March 2011.
The man who wants to develop Haverhill Research Park will soon be sharing with town businesses the results of the recent consultation he held about the proposal.
Nic Rumsey will talk to marketing website the bestofhaverhill's next business meeting on Thursday, March 17, at The Days Inn, Haverhill, from 10am to 11.30am.
The talk by Mr Rumsey, director of Carisbrooke Investments and owner of the Days Inn, Haverhill, will be part of the theme of Wanting The Best For Haverhill.
Carisbrooke has recently engaged in an extensive consultation exercise with the general public and stakeholders in Haverhill.
The community consultation began with a launch event at Days Inn on January 27. Mr Rumsey and his team were on hand to answer questions and explain the draft masterplan for the research park in more detail.
An unmanned display of the project, with the opportunity to leave feedback, was available at the hotel until February 4.
The views gathered over the consultation period have been assimilated and presented to St Edmundsbury Borough Council for their consideration.
Mr Rumsey will be presenting an overview of the feedback received and talking about the next steps for the project and his vision for Haverhill Research Park.
Elaine Carr, owner of thebestofhaverhill, said: “We are in a fortunate position in Haverhill to have companies such as Carisbrooke Investments wanting to invest in the town.
"In addition to the short-term construction opportunities that the establishment of Haverhill Research Park will bring, it also has the potential to create employment prospects for people with skills in the hi-tech and science based industries.
"While we should be very proud of Haverhill’s strong manufacturing and engineering pedigree, an increase in the number of hi-tech businesses can only compliment what we already have to offer.
"Nic Rumsey has a proven track record in Haverhill with the development of the Haverhill Business Park, including the award winning and very successful Days Inn Hotel.
"He is a strong advocate of Haverhill and has demonstrated his commitment to working with the borough council and other stakeholders in the town to achieve the best outcomes for all concerned. I am looking forward to hearing his update on the project."
