Burst main floods homes and closes road
Tuesday, 8th December 2009.
A burst water main closed Withersfield Road in Haverhill, at the Howe Road junction for over an hour on Saturday and flooded two nearby homes.
The main burst in a garden in Cambridge Way and water flowed through the two houses and down the bank onto the main road, which was 18 inches deep in places.
Police were called to redirect traffic and Anglian Water to shut off the water main.
The incident happened shortly after midday.
