Burglars strike again in two more incidents
Friday, 13th December 2013.
The domestic burglary count in Haverhill, described by the town's police chief Insp Peter Ferrie this week as has main area of concern, continues to rise.
Police are appealing for witnesses after two more burglaries in Haverhill in the last couple of days.
The first incident occurred between 7am on Wednesday and 9am next morning at an address in Broadcroft Crescent.
A rear window was smashed to get in and a laptop along with some tools were stolen.
The second offence took place between 3pm and 8.30pm yesterday, at a property in Yerrill Gardens.
Thieves got in via an insecure rear window and property including an IBM laptop, a collection of old English coins, two black laptop bags and £80 worth of gift vouchers were stolen.
Anyone with information about either of these crimes is asked to contact the Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
On Monday Insp Ferrie reported to the quarterly Safer Neighbourhood Team meeting that almost all areas of crime in the town were down, with the exception of domestic burglary, which concerned him as it particularly worried residents.
