Bumper Times
Thursday, 13th July 2000.
Organisers are celebrating a bumper profit of at least £500 from the Haverhill Scout and Guide Fete.
The event took place at the headquarters in Colne Valley Road and the proceeds go towards the rebuilding fund for new premises.
The Scout and Guide Commitee is working on a new application for Lottery funding and is hoping to finally succeed after several unsuccessful previous bids.
Entry was free to the fete and there were many stalls and sideshows.
Welly-throwing proved to be a popular attraction, as well as was a grand draw and the refreshments facility.
