Brick thrown from Sturmer Arches hit car passing below
Thursday, 11th August 2011.
Police are asking the public for help in tracking down a mindless vandal who threw a brick from Sturmer Arches which hit a car being driven by a 49-year-old woman.
The incident happened in Sturmer Road, Haverhill, at about 4.30pm on Wednesday when the woman was driving her silver Citroen C3 along the road from Sturmer to Haverhill.
A brick was thrown from the viaduct over the road hitting the roof of the car and causing damage.
A police spokesman said: "Throwing missiles at cars has the potential to cause a road traffic collision and in turn serious injury or damage. It is fortunate that no one was hurt.
"Such behaviour is extremely irresponsible. Throwing any item into traffic puts lives at risk, and anyone found to be doing so will be firmly dealt with.
2This type of anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Suffolk Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident."
Calls in relation to this incident should be made to the Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB) on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
