Brad's Mexican mission
Friday, 6th September 2002.
MANAGEMENT consultant Brad Strachan will have a 50th birthday to remember when he puts on his walking boots for a trek across the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico.
Mr Strachan, of Great Thurlow, is taking part in the event in aid of the National Asthma Campaign and needs to raise a total of £2,500 before he goes in November. So far he has raised around £1,600.
Mr Strachan is chairman of the school governors at the New Cangle Primary School in Haverhill and decided on his chosen charity after a pupil at the school had an asthma attack.
"The trek starts from 2,600 metres high. It is nine days walking, up to a maximum of 20 kilometres a day," Mr Strachan said.
To sponsor the effort visit Haverhill Leisure Centre or ring Mr Strachan on (01440) 783458.
