Big Books for Free
Friday, 16th July 2004.
Print is everywhere. From a tin of beans to a book to a CD cover, there is evidence all around you of the Print and Graphics industry.
Specialized Print Limited offers over 27 years of experience exclusively in corporate and professional print. Our head office 'SPL House' is situated in central Haverhill. We are members of both the IPIA (Independent Print Industries Association), and the BPIF (British Printing Industries Federation) and abide by their code of practice, which ensures a very high quality of service. Our specialist areas are continuous stationery, forms management & security print.
We would like to stress the importance of the printing industry for the prosperity of the UK. "UK printers are among the best in the world with some of the most innovative and modern practices in manufacturing. We need to develop skills as the changes in technology evolve and to bring new people into the industry, which is one of the largest sectors in the UK, to maintain its competitiveness.
Specialized Print are pleased to announce the launch of the Print Education Forum's Big Books, together with new careers materials, including Teachers notes & CD-ROM inserts, to be used as an initiative for increasing interest and awareness of the printing industry among primary school children.
We are delighted to support this project that brings printing to life for children. It is the first time this type of material has been available to schools and we hope that the books will demonstrate to pupils how varied and exciting the printing industry can be, perhaps encouraging them to choose one of the many careers available within it.
Specialized Print Ltd will be distributing copies of the five-volume books to all of Haverhill's local primary schools at a formal presentation ceremony at the Woodlands Hotel on Tuesday 20th July 2004.
The Print Education Forum are the sector body for the printing, graphic communication and packaging sector in the United Kingdom, recognised as such by the Learning and Skills Council, Local Enterprise Companies and the Trade Associations which make up part of the governing body.
