Bed Wear at Work to help Special Care Children
Wednesday, 16th July 2003.
WOOLWORTHS staff at Haverhill who turned up for work in their pyjamas had not overslept, they were helping raise money for a local charity.
Staff at the High Street store started a fund-raising campaign about a month ago for PUSH, a group which organises activities for children with special needs, so that it can buy more sensory toys.
Staff raised £236 on Saturday and previous activities, such as sitting in a pool of jelly, have raised a total of £630 so far.
It is hoped to reach a target of £1,000 and on Saturday, July 26, there will be a competition in the store to guess the birthday of a giant Winnie the Pooh and a colouring competition with four-seven years and eight-11 age groups.
