Local bands are being showcased in the library on Sunday's throughout this summer.
As part of the expanding access to libraries scheme, Haverhill Library has been open for use on Sundays since earlier this year. Now over the summer months, local bands will be playing for free.
Last Sunday afternoon over 450 residents were attracted by the sound of music coming from inside the library as they sat on the grass in the sunshine to listen to local four-piece rock band Delfini. The hour long plus set consisted completely of material they had written themselves.
Later in the afternoon, two members of WTL, a local Christian rock band, played a few songs inside the library. Both bands will return for a joint gig at the library in September..
This Sunday (8 August) two heavy rock bands Death Ignite and Rain will be playing at the library. Later in the month, Ed Haine will be playing saxaphone with backing tracks.
Sunday music events in the library are free and the bands are all playing for free.
