Bands compete in town's big battle

Homegrown talent will be battling it out at Riffed, the Battle of the Bands 2011 on Saturday, March 26, at Haverhill Arts Centre.
Starting at 7.45pm (doors at 7.15pm) five bands, all from the Haverhill area, compete for a host of prizes including time in a recording studio and a gig at Haverhill Arts Centre.
The night will consist of a set from each of the entrants which will be under the scrutiny of a panel of local judges.
The bands are:
Keep ‘em Keen, a pop-punk alternative rock band whose vocalist Jade Donno recently sang in the Live final of Open Mic at the 02. The other members are - Mike Cockayne, guitar and backing vocals; Luke Mansell-Ward, guitar; Rich Wallis, bass; and Ben Brennan, drums;
Federal Black 40, has a classic rock sound with BIG riffs and has been together since 2007 with Dan Hudson on vocals, Kev Baker and Gary Herington on guitar, Bruce Simpson on drums and Gordy Cullum on bass;
Spitfire John who describe themselves as a pop-rock outfit consist of Alan White, Bass/vocals; Harry White, guitar/vocals; Amandine Paccioni keyboards/vocals and Tim Fletcher drums;
Eva’s Dream named themselves after an inspirational short story by Anne Frank and say that they are a band who just won’t let go of the ideal that rock and roll can save the world;
Garage punk rock grunge psychedelic band Lou Roll and the Turds play original punk and have extensive experience gigging around Suffolk and Cambridgeshire and Spain and have made a number of releases on the Pint a Bread record label.
