Appeal to donate blood
Tuesday, 30th October 2001.
TEN THOUSAND donations of blood are used in hospitals every day to provide patients with the treatments they need.
Today, the National Blood Service has launched a local appeal to encourage as many people as possible to donate blood at their next session on November 5, at the St Felix Parish Centre.
The Blood service is also reinforcing the message that anyone between 17 and 70 (60 for new donors) and weigh at least 7st 12lbs (50kg). There are a few exceptions which can be found on the National Blood Service website, by phoning the helpline or by talking to the clinical staff at the donation centre.
The service is appealing for Haverhill to “Do something amazing and Give Blood.”
