Appeal for more helpers
Thursday, 27th September 2001.
TEACUPS were chinking at the British Heart Foundation shop in Haverhill High Street at an open morning aimed at recruiting more volunteers.
Alison Langstone, manager of the shop, said quite a few people called in for a chat.
One definite new member of staff was signed up and a few more are thinking about it, but the shop could still do with more help.
“Even if it is only a few hours a week it is useful to us. We like people to be at least 15, but then it is up to any age when they still feel they want to help,” Ms Langstone said.
The tea morning was one of a number around the country supported by Tetley tea during the 40th anniversary year of the British Heart Foundation.
Anyone who could not attend the tea morning, but is interested in helping should call into the shop or ring (01440) 703245.
