Anyone for tennis at free club day sessions

Haverhill Tennis Club is holding a free tennis day for young and old at its courts next to Haverhill Leisure Centre on Saturday, June 15.
It will be a fun event with competitions and prizes for the winners and challenges such as hitting the fastest serve.
The programmes of events starts from 9 am to 10:30 am with Under 13 fun tennis, then from 11 an to 12:30 pm Under 15 tennis, a family tournament from 2 – 5 pm and adults come and try tennis from 5:15 to 6:15 pm.
You do not have to be a member if the tennis club to take party and can turn up 30 minutes before your particular session to join in.
To enter the family tournament ring 01440 761097 by June 12.
The club is also organising an open tennis tournament for various age groups for girls and boys on Saturday, July 13, and entry is by application.
There will be trophies for the winners and entry is £2 per events, with forms available form the Leisure Centre and schools.
The club already has some successful young players in the National Junior Tennis League.
Haverhill entered Under 17 and Under 15 boys teams, and Under 15 boys teams Simon Newnes, Jake Weston and Lee Hurkitt beat Ipswich and Felixstowe to reach the play-offs.
