Another free special school on the cards in Haverhill
Friday, 23rd November 2012.
The Castle Partnership is bidding to create an Alternative Provision All-Through Free School for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD) in Haverhill.
The academy trust, which includes Castle Manor and Place Farm schools, is asking for Haverhill Town Council to support a bid it will be making to the Government next month to run an SEBD school, providing high quality, cost effective all-through education for students who could be on the cusp of permanent exclusion or beyond.
It would have 120 students on roll, 40 primary and 80 secondary, to be phased in over six years.
The move comes just a few months after Samuel Ward Academy received the go-ahead from the Government fo a special free school next to its Chalkstone Way site.
