Annual public meeting lasts just four minutes
Wednesday, 11th May 2011.
Haverhill's yearly town meeting passed off last night in just four minutes as no members of the public had any issues to raise.
The meeting was held in the main hall of Haverhill Arts Centre, and is the annual opportunity or anyone to raise any issues that concern them, so that Haverhill Town Council can look into them and take any action needed.
Apart from town councillors, who attend as members of the public, there were half a dozen others present, but most were waiting to receive grant presentations at the annual town counciol meeting which followed. None had any issues to raise.
The meeting was chaired by the deputy town mayor Cllr Les Ager, in the absence of the town mayor Elaine McManus who had stood down from the council at the recent elections.
It turned out to be Cllr Ager's last job as deputy mayor as he was voted out at the ensuing town council annual meeting and replaced by Cllr Pat Hanlon.
