Angling news
By Rupert Beynon on Tuesday, 6th April 2010.
At last - spring has arrived and with it also comes the start of Haverhill Angling Club's matches for 2010.
After what I have to describe as one of the worst winter periods for fishing that I can remember (I am sure Jason Jeggo would remember worse times as he is much older than I am), the average daytime temperatures are reaching the magical ten degrees when I believe the carp start to emerge from their winter slumber.
This year the club will be running matches every other week on a Sunday starting on April 11, at Hermitage lakes, Clare, draw at 8am, and then at different locations throughout the year.
Names please to Jason Jeggo the match secretary who can be contacted on 07962055307.
I will also be entering a fish-o-mania qualifier along with another Haverhill club member, Danny Porter, where we wll be trying our luck at Makins fishery and we will also be entering the Maver pairs competition later on in the year.
Club cards can be obtained from Petco which is where First Cast Fishing used to be, and they will also be stocking a small amount of bait. Tight lines.
