All smiles for funtime day
Thursday, 25th July 2002.
AN AFTERNOON of joy for all the community was provided at the Chalkstone Fun Day on Saturday.
The event was organised by Haverhill On Track and Haverhill Town Council, in conjunction with the Mondays for Mums group and Chalkstone Tenants
and Residents Association. There was a Glamorous
Granny Competition, a tug of war competition, displays by Millennium Stars Majorettes and Chalkstone Karate Club, as well as the Stars and Stetsons Line Dancers. There was also an under fives playgroup
supervised by the Stepping Stones group.
The nearby Scarlet Pimpernel pub was also celebrating its 30th anniversary in the town with a barbecue. A Family Karaoke Disco was held at the Chalkstone Community Centre in the evening.
