Actors create a play day
Wednesday, 23rd August 2000.
BUDDING actors and actresses visited Haverhill Arts Centre to put together a play in a day.
More than 20 people turned up at 7.30am to be cast and had just 12 hours to learn their lines before performing the play to a live audience at 8pm.
The event, organised by Haverhill Town Council as part of its summer in Haverhill celebrations, was open to people of all ages.
The scenery for The Rose Garden was painted by a group of youngsters at a special workshop at Haverhill Library one week before the play.
Gordon Muffett, Haverhill town clerk, said: "It went very well and a good, but tiring, time was had by all."
