A Really Bright Idea
Sunday, 16th March 2008.
St Edmundsbury is offering residents the chance to take simple steps towards going green by swapping their traditional light bulbs for energy saving alternatives – for free.
All residents will need to do is bring one or two traditional bulbs into one of St Edmundsbury’s offices between Wednesday, 26 March and Friday, 28 March. Bulbs can be swapped at:
• Borough Offices, Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds
• St Edmundsbury House, Western Way, Bury St Edmunds
• Council Offices, Lower Downs Slade, Haverhill
Residents will then be given the choice of either a 40 or 100 watt energy efficient light bulb as a replacement. These bulbs use around 80 percent less electricity than a standard bulb but last up to ten times longer, which helps save money as well as the environment.
