'We must sharpen up'
Thursday, 5th October 2000.
TWO goals in the opening five minutes - the second a penalty - did for Haverhill as they remain rooted to the foot of the table of the Jewson League Division One.
Although Rovers managed to pull one goal back - through Alex Clarke - they are still looking for their first league point.
"We thoroughly deserved something from the game, but it wasn't to be," said manager Paul Goodman. "The performance was excellent, but we just need to sharpen up in front of goal."
Paul Jenkins impressed on his return from holiday in Australia, but Rovers are now desperately in need of a win to kick-start their campaign.
"We've got to turn the performances into points, but we're on the right road," said Goodman.
