Matthew Hancock MP is delighted to have officially opened a new Havebury Housing development in Haverhill today which provides homes for over forty people in the area.
Matthew opened both sites and addressed members of the local community, citing the importance of affordable housing and how it helps people get on the property ladder.
The development includes a total of twenty one houses on Chalkstone Way and comprises of two-bedroom flats, and three-bedroom houses as well as twenty seven houses in the Withersfield Road development, which include 13 former residents of nearby William Blake Court. Both housing sites received a Homes and Communities Agency grant.
Commenting, Matthew said:
“It was a pleasure to open these brand new houses today. We very much need more homes that are within financial reach local people in Haverhill and I pay tribute to Havebury Housing for once again making this possible.
“Haverhill is growing all the time, and we need to provide all types of accommodation to support our economic and community development.
Developments like these, not only supports people on the first rung of the property ladder, it also benefits our local economy in Haverhill and helps local people to remain living in the areas they’re familiar with. I hope those who live here will be very happy in these wonderful homes”.
